About me

Since childhood, my artistic talent was recognised by those close to me. I experimented with almost every field of fine arts but only began to formally polish my talent when, aged 15, I studied at the Arts School in Constantza. Durring this time I was part of several group exhibitions and I remained at the school for two years and it is during that period that my drawings took on a morbid feel, driven by my fascination for the dark side of everything.

 

I had the chance to see the movie “Dune” and „Alien” when only a few in Romania had probably heard of

H.R.Giger and I was immediately fascinated by his artwork. This was a real turning point in my life and career. In the summer of ’95, I received one of Giger’a albums as a gift (“H.R.Giger Arh+”, 1993 Benedikt Taschen Verlag). The vast expression and force of details left me feeling that I had discovered a new dimension to art. I consider the “Alien” series to be a masterpiece, a standard to which all else aspires. My absolute personal favourite, these movies continue to give me the same pleasure and excitement as the first time I saw them.

 

I applyed to the University when I felt I needed to and not when society thought it was right for me to do it. I didn’t want to become one of the robots that paint just because they were asked to. I graduated straight A’s

in Arts – restauration and preservation department.

... So, I am a painter, book and documents restorer.

I practiced arts in other ways as well. I have been a tattoo artist several years and I like building and painting World War II dioramas.

 

Realism, surrealism and impressionism are the art currents that represent a great influence for my style. Some of my favorite painters and also sources of inspiration are: Hans Rudolf "Reudi" Giger, Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso, Vincent Van Gogh, Albrecht Durer, Rembrandt van Rijn.
